Quick Tip: How To Remove Loose Threads From Clothes

At some point or another, you're bound to find some "loose ends" and hanging strings on pet garments.

Regardless of whether an item is new or used, there's a really simple trick you can use to effectively remove loose threads and prevent any new ones from showing up there in the future...

Light 'em up!

That's right - you can remove loose threads and stop future fraying simply by burning them. Here's how:

  1. Using a lighter, burn the flame about 1/4 to 1/2 inch away from the seam/base.
  2. Then, let the flame burn down to the seam/base. Once it reaches the base, the flame will likely extinguish itself (if it doesn't, light blow it out yourself)
  3. Immediately after the flame is extinguished, use your thumb and index finger to lightly press on the area while it's still warm. This will 'seal' the thread/seam, and prevent it from fraying in that spot in the future.

Here's a video demonstrating the steps outlined above:

Hope this helps! And please, please, please exercise caution when using fire!
